It’s no secret that I absolutely love the mashup of media – especially the integration of physical + digital. And, yes, my heart raced a little when news broke of The CW network’s LIVE (yes live) Twitter feed running in Entertainment Weekly.
And then when it was announced that there were only 1000 copies floating around NYC and LA, I just happened to be in New York that day and literally went to 6 different newsstands to no avail. And as I feverishly used Foursquare explore to track down area newsstands, I just kept thinking there may have been a scavenger hunt/clues-based opportunity with this.
But regardless, it is mission accomplished by OMD, Twitter, and most importantly The CW for taking a somewhat isolated stunt and turning it into wide-spread buzz and news to help promote The CW’s new fall TV lineup.
