I’ve always been fascinated by looking back at the “beginnings” of things that have become notable. Maybe it was when Spock said in Star Trek II, “For all things, there is a first time” that it resonated the most. From looking back at my first blog post to re-watching Triumph of the Nerds, the choices that are made early on can set things that aren’t even imaginable (at the time) in motion.
Twitter recently celebrated its 5th birthday. It’s pretty intense to read the hopes and excitement in how Ev Willams and Biz stone first describe it (back when it was called “twttr”). My favorite line: “We're still figuring it out, so go sign up and invite all your friends to help us do so.”
Indeed, for all things there is a first time.
