My work colleagues know that I can’t stand reading things on-screen. As techno-savvy as I am, I still need to print out long or complex documents. I like holding them in my hands, being able to mark them up, and most of all the sheer portability a printout gives.

Star Trek: The Next Generation in the late 1980s and early 1990s depicted a paperless future with small stacks of e-readers. Ironically the Plastic Logic product is even more thin than the 24th century:
Now if only a way can be figured out to replicate the experience of marking up/editing a paper-based document with a red pen, I’ll never print again.
